Earlier today during my shift we were busy chatting and answer some trivia through our conference room when suddenly a question has been posted by my colleague.

"Enumerate the Seven Deadly Sin"

They suddenly answered and I was busy reading.

1. Lust

2. Gluttony

3. Greed

4. Sloth

5. Wrath

6. Envy

....

....

Then suddenly somebody posted

7. Pride

That makes me wonder why.. I opened wikipedia and searched for the topic and read the article.. the first few sentence states:

"In almost every list pride (or hubris or vanity) is considered the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, and indeed the ultimate source from which the others arise. It is identified as a desire to be more important or attractive than others, failing to give compliments to others though they may be deserving of them, and excessive love of self (especially holding self out of proper position toward God)."

Reading from the definition itself it has something to do with vanity. But when i tried to think and relate this article to myself. Its not just vanity or looking at yourself but it has something to do with people around you and what does it affect to them.

I myself has a pride that made me say that I am selfish. I already accepted it and I learned lessons from it.

Pride does not satisfy you on what you believe and what you want others sees you. It can make you isolate and desperate not just because of selfishness but because of your desire to be happy.

But still I can say I live with my own pride. Still hoping to seek happiness as what other people live by.

But one question still comes to my mind...

Why most of people live with their own pride... :)

When I woke up, I rushed in front of my PC and do some bonding moment with it since its my rest day.

I changed all my status to Available in both YM and GTalk.

I came across with friend who is online. We talked for almost an hour. He was nursing graduate and currently in one of the hospitals here in the country.

When we chatted he said that he will be out of the country soon because his "Destiny" calls him to go there and work.

I said...

"There is no such things as Destiny." He replied, "Yes, there is.. Working out of the country is my Destiny and its calling me."

and then I paused.. tried to think.. and then said..

"Destiny do not exist. Everything happens for a reason cause you chose for it. You choose what would you do in life that would make your life easy. Its like having a dream and ambition.. You cannot achieve them once you do not do it and decide for yourself... In my own opinion what you decide for yourself is what makes you a better person and what makes your life more easier. It is not destiny.. It is what you do and what you choose that will make you happy."

suddenly ... there was silence..

and he said..

"yeah.. you're right.."

After shift..

We decided to go out and have some drink since its the last day prior to our new shift. We decided to go in mango since its Saturday night (technically Sunday dawn).

While we were in the cab a topic has been opened by Dhomz ( teammate and a good friend ),

he said

"Theres no such thing as satisfaction."

...

...

It made me think and said "yeah right" (in a sarcastic way).

And suddenly Yodge (supervisor/friend) said..

"But there is contentment...

Satisfaction... you can be satisfied of what you are but there is something that lacks you.

While being contented you can be happy and satisfied cause you accept what you are.. what you do.. what other people treat you.."

I ended the topic, since we already arrived in our destination, saying...

"Basta ako.. am SATISFIED.."
